Fall In Love With Your Dress
February is most definitely the month of love and with Valentine’s Day in all our diaries this month, we thought we’d take a little look at how to fall in love… with your wedding gown! Here at Coco & Kate, we just adore helping our wonderful brides to find the wedding dress of their dreams so, if you’re coming to our Warwickshire bridal boutique soon, here are a few little tips and tricks you need to know to make sure our first date is brilliant… Firstly, think really carefully about who you bring with you. Just like any date you go on, it’s best not to arrive with a whole supporting posse! A few trusted friends or family members are all you need and, as I said in this feature on the fantastic Love My Dress, do try to keep your appointment a child-free zone. Bridal boutiques are fabulous dressing-up boxes but they’re really for adults only!
Come along with an open mind – it’s hard to truly fall in love when you’ve already decided on what you think suits you best. It might be that a different style, shape or shade really flatters you so whilst doing a bit of research before your appointment is always a good idea, being too set on what you think you want isn’t. Make the most of the experience and try on as many gowns as you like. Then, when you find the one that makes your heart beat faster, there’ll be no second thoughts.
One thing you absolutely don’t need to worry about when you visit Coco & Kate for your wedding dress date is your body. We’re all about building confidence and making you look and feel your best so whilst we’re going to be checking you out, it’s just so we can suggest the dresses that might work wonderfully for you. The boutique is a super safe and supportive place to be, we’re welcoming and friendly so you can just be yourself (and we’ll love you for it!)
Also, it’s a date so we want to get to know you. We’ll want to hear all about your wedding plans, what you’ve arranged so far, what style and atmosphere you’re after and, of course, we want to know all about you and your partner. The better we can understand you, the better our relationship can be.
And as we’re talking about open relationships, be really honest when you come to your appointment. If you don’t like a dress or a detail on a gown, then say so! We’re thrilled to stock such a great range of designs from brilliant designers so there’s plenty of choice and the more feedback you can give, the easier it will be for us to find ‘the one’.
Finally, just like falling in love for real, falling in love with your dress is all about being comfortable with yourself. Don’t make yourself go for a dress because you think you should have that style or that label. You need to feel comfortable and confident with your wedding gown and that comes from wearing the right dress for you, not the one you think you should choose.
